Meet Dr. Carolyn Kaloostian
Carolyn Kaloostian, MD, MPH, is a third-generation Californian who has spent her career turning expertise into action—improving health, supporting families, and solving complex problems. From caring for patients to leading community health initiatives, she brings the same focus, compassion, and results-driven approach to her vision for Glendale City Council.
A graduate of UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine with an Executive Master’s in Public Health, Dr. Kaloostian understands how individual needs connect to broader systems. Her training in geriatrics and public health has given her deep experience in prevention, safety, and long-term planning—skills directly relevant to city priorities such as public safety, emergency preparedness, and ensuring city services work effectively for families, seniors, and small businesses alike.
She is recognized nationally for high-quality, patient-centered care, teaching future physicians, and advancing research. Dr. Kaloostian was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, recognized for medical education excellence, and named among the Best of the Best Top Doctors.
In leadership roles, she serves as Assistant Medical Director of her clinic and Chair of the Quality Subcommittee for USC Keck Hospital, overseeing safety and quality initiatives. She is also the recipient of LA County’s Outstanding Teamwork Award for leading countywide education on lifesaving skills. She chaired the 2025 American Heart Association Heart Walk after being honored as their 2024 Woman of Impact, bringing together volunteers, organizations, and local partners around a shared mission. She is a trusted voice in the media, with appearances on ABC, CBS, KCAL, Good Day LA, The Today Show, and Larry King, making complex health topics clear and actionable—skills she plans to bring to city government to keep residents informed, engaged, and supported.
Raised in a family rooted in service, she attended Armenian elementary school and values the city’s cultural diversity and strong sense of community. Now seeking to serve on the Glendale City Council, a devoted wife and mother of two, she is committed to using her experience, integrity and collaborative leadership to focus on solutions, not politics, for a safer and stronger Glendale.
